Big Daddy

In the underwater city of Rapture, Big Daddies are enhanced humans with skin and organs grafted into massive metal diving suits, outfitted with large drills, assigned to protect genetically altered Little Sisters who collect ADAM. They respond violently to threats against their Sisters. This thread covers main types like Bouncers, Rosies, Rumblers, and Lancers, excluding special individuals like Alpha Series or Big Sisters.

Physicals - Strength

Physicals - Durability - Cutscene

  • Doesn’t respond to pistol fire (source) (^1)

  • Can operate just fine on the bottom of the ocean (source) (^BaS)
  • Limit: Gets swarmed by bees, then shot in the face, then falls a short distance, which kills the Big Daddy (source) ([Limit] ^T)

Physicals - Durability - Gameplay

  • More or less unharmed by splicers, who can decapitate people (source) (^Novel)

  • Utilizes a charging attack to cross distances and slam into enemies (source) (^1)

Physicals - Elite Bouncers

  • Elite Bouncers are stronger and tougher than standard models, have a unique drill weapon, and they come in a red and white paint job (source) (^1)

Drill - Drill Power

  • Punctures a concrete floor with the drill (source) (^T)
  • Drills into Jack’s hand before being repelled by a blast from a shotgun (source) (^T)
  • Impales Jack through the back and finishes him by hitting him in the face with the drill (source) (^T)
  • Kills a man with an overhead swing, then a stab of the drill (source) (^2D)
  • Impales Booker Dewitt through the back (source) (^BaS)
  • Impales Dr. Suchong and slams his body on a desk (source) (^BaS)

Drill - Grappling

  • Drills into rock, then uses the drill as a grappling hook (source) (^BaS)
  • Uses the grappling hook drill offensively, burying it into a concrete wall and rotating the drill to take it back out (source) (^BaS)
  • Draws Booker in with the grappling hook (source) (^BaS)
  • The gases in the launcher became too unstable to use, so they had to be removed for future Bouncer models (source) (^BaS)

Little Sisters - Biology

Little Sisters - Chemical Bond
