Blake Cobalt - the Rational Man with a Shotgun

Blake Cobalt is a rational, real-world human hero who employs a tiered strategy to approach enemies logically, using reasoning, bullets, exploiting weaknesses, backup, or avoidance. He carries standard equipment like a leatherman, duct tape, zip ties, strobe flashlight, and paracord. He can create specialized ammunition with prep time and has his hidden sniper brother Ethan as backup. Blake is immune to canon-breaking bullshit, can research opponents via their media, and follows human limitations without excessive prep or magical knowledge. All RMWS characters are public domain.
Strategy
- If the enemy can be reasoned with, Blake will reason with them. (source)
- If the enemy is vulnerable to bullets, Blake will put bullets in them. (source)
- If the enemy is invulnerable to bullets, Blake will find a weakness and exploit it. (source)
- If the enemy cannot be beaten by Blake and his friends alone, Blake will call for backup. (source)
- If the enemy cannot be beaten under any circumstances, Blake will let the writer have some fun with it. (source)
Capabilities
- Blake can be assumed to be carrying any of the equipment mentioned in his original post: a leatherman (knife), duct tape, zip ties, a powerful blinding strobe flashlight and 100 ft. of paracord.
- Blake can create specialized shotgun and rifle rounds, assuming he has anticipated the fight and had enough prep-time to fashion appropriate ordinance.
- Blake always has his brother, Ethan Cobalt (aka Snipey) as backup, hidden with a powerful sniper rifle; they communicate by radio on Blake’s collar, and Ethan has reasonable specialized ammo.
- Ethan is generally considered secret; opponents will not have prior knowledge of Snipey unless deduced via plot.
- Blake is immune to bullshit; attempts to break the rules of their own canon will not be effective against him.
- Blake can formulate strategies and use weapons that are not shotgun based, such as a bow-and-arrow if rational for the situation.
- Blake can research his opponent’s strengths and weaknesses by way of their canonical fiction, accessing comics, movies, books, video games, and /r/whowouldwin threads.
Limitations
- Blake is always a real-world Earth human, limited to actual human rules, though he can breathe canon-human air and walk in canon-human gravity.
- Blake is not a prep-time god; he has enough prep-time to craft specialized ammunition and decide core gear, but more must be earned by plot.
- Ethan cannot always automatically hide; if impossible, Blake will tell him to escape, costing backup.
- Blake is protective of Ethan and will not use strategies putting him in greater danger than typical sniper hiding.
- For Blake to canonically win, he cannot rely on Gina Sierra (Genre Savvy Girl with a Sword), who is a bit OP.
- Blake does not have magical, perfect knowledge of opponents’ strengths, weaknesses, and feats; he must read like anyone else.
Potential Capabilities
- Blake might be able to bring tools from one canon into another or contact allies from other canons, though this is undecided to avoid turning him into a Pullshit God.
