Captain Marvel

Captain Carol Susan Jane Danvers is a former United States Air Force pilot who was unwillingly mind-wiped and transformed into a member of Kree Starforce named Vers after absorbing the energy of the Tesseract, granting her cosmic abilities. The Kree intended to exploit her potential in their war against the Skrulls, using a photon inhibitor to limit her powers and keep her under control. During a mission, she got stranded on Earth, recalled her human life, and discovered she was being used as a weapon. She joined S.H.I.E.L.D agent Nick Fury and Skrull leader Talos to retrieve the Tesseract and help the Skrulls escape. By confronting and overwhelming the Supreme Intelligence, she destroyed the photon inhibitor and unlocked her true powers, using them to fend off an attack on Earth by Ronan the Accuser. Since then, she has dealt with various conflicts throughout the universe.
