Don Quixote - SCP-4028

SCP-4028 is Alonso ‘Don’ Quixote, the titular character of Miguel de Cervantes’ novel, existing as fiction-within-fiction in the Foundation universe. As a sapient metafictional construct, he can inhabit, alter, and move through fictional texts via narrative adjacency, possessing meta-awareness and the ability to interact with other works. He infects public works and the SCP Database, battling anomalies before self-neutralizing. His history, personality, and delusions of grandeur follow Cervantes’s writing, but become real through his narrative alterations. Later revealed as Sancho Panza in disguise in the second iteration, they reunite and retire to fight wind turbines in Spain.
