General
- Covered in approximately 12,000 plates of reinforced armor. (source) (End of Evangelion 25:55)
- The armor serves as a limiter to keep EVAs under control and restrict their power. (source) (Episode 24)
- Like all EVAs, EVA-02 is a biological being with flesh and organs. (source) (End of Evangelion 36:05)
- EVAs stand approximately 70-80 meters tall. (source) (WOG)
- EVAs are partially controlled using Personality Transplant OS, implanting a person’s personality into an organic computer. (source) (Episode 13 17:49)
- EVAs have a soul implanted in them through unknown means. (source) (Episode 24 17:50)
- The personality/soul implanted in EVA-02 is highly implied to be Asuka’s mother. (source) (End of Evangelion 24:00)
- Synchronization between the pilot and the EVA allows control and movement. (source) (WOG)
Strength
- Alongside EVA-01, kicks the Angel Israfel a considerable distance up a mountain. (source) (Episode 9 20:36)
- Lifts a warship over itself, then throws it. (source) (End of Evangelion 24:20)
- Pushes open the EVA docking restraints under its own power. (source) (Episode 11 17:13)
- Throws a similar sized enemy out of a building, then punches through it and into a separate enemy’s chest. (source) (End of Evangelion 37:30)
- Pries apart Gaghiel’s jaws despite being bitten by them. (source) (Episode 8 19:47)
- Evenly matched in strength against EVA-01. (source) (Episode 24 17:30)
- Scales to EVA-01. (source)
AT Field
- AT Fields are barriers between minds/souls of living organisms; Angels and Evangelions manifest them to defend, neutralize others, and occasionally as weapons. (source) (Episode 24 18:07)
- Blocks rocketfire and destroys helicopters using its AT field. (source) (End of Evangelion 26:00)
- Uses its AT field to block a thrown piercing projectile as large as EVA-02. (source) (End of Evangelion 26:00)
- Along with other EVAs, halts the Angel Sahaquiel’s fall and pushes it up using AT fields. (source) (Episode 12 19:20)
- Summons a giant pillar of light, which also sprays water from the lake. (source) (End of Evangelion 24:01)
- The soul creating the AT field prevents spiritual possession when connected to the pilot. (source) (Episode 24 17:50)
Durability
- No sells tank fire and helicopter missiles. (source) (End of Evangelion 15:40)
- Unharmed after being tackled by another EVA. (source) (End of Evangelion 34:35)
- Tanks multiple depth charges around itself. (source) (End of Evangelion 22:30)
- Tanks a point blank explosion that levels a mountain. (source) (Episode 9 20:55)
- No sells being directly hit by two missiles the same size as itself, which then explode. (source) (End of Evangelion 25:15)
- Unharmed after being thrashed around underwater through buildings by Angel Gaghiel. (source) (Episode 8 15:27)
- Pries apart Gaghiel’s jaws despite being bitten by them. (source) (Episode 8 19:47)
- Continues functioning after both arms cut off by Zeruel, stopped when head is cut off. (source) (Episode 19 12:20)
- Survives and goes berserk despite running out of power, most internal organs ripped out, and stabbed through the head; killed after more stabs. (source) (End of Evangelion 36:05)
- LCL fluid in cockpit provides mind barrier against telepaths, though not effectively shown. (source) (Episode 22 17:38)
Mobility/Speed
- Repeatedly performs backflips to dodge attacks. (source) (Episode 9:20)
- Jumps from ship to ship while at sea. (source) (Episode 8 13:34)
- Dodges several missiles in mid-air. (source) (End of Evangelion 25:00)
- Easily jumps over power lines. (source) (Episode 12 18:38)
- Reacts to an incoming thrown projectile and blocks it with AT field. (source) (End of Evangelion 35)
- Reacts to and dodges a falling enemy, then parries its attack. (source) (End of Evangelion 34:25)
Endurance
- EVA Units have a power cord for indefinite function, but 5 minute internal battery if separated. (source) (End of Evangelion 25:45)
- Can go berserk after running out of battery, like EVA-01, to continue fighting. (source) (End of Evangelion 36:05)
- EVAs can endure for at least 5 billion years if not interfered with. (source)
Equipment
- Carries a Progressive Knife in its left shoulder blade. (source) (Episode 8, 14:31)
- Progressive Knives emit high frequency vibrating particles to enhance cutting power. (source) (WOG; Platinum Release Info Booklet)
- Progressive Knife usable in magma without heat damage. (source) (17:44)
- Progressive Knife has extendable, box cutter-like blade for ejecting and replacing damaged parts. (source) (End of Evangelion 34:10)
- In one swing, prog knife cuts off the arm of another EVA unit. (source) (End of Evangelion 34:15)
- Right shoulder blade has 7 Needle Gun barrels shooting at least 2 volleys of expanding spikes. (source) (End of Evangelion 35:50)
- Pallet Rifle, standard ranged weapon, blows through Angel Matarael after AT field removal. (source) (Episode 11 20:30)
- Can use Positron Rifle (Prototype 20 with toroidal accelerator). (source) (Episode 22: Director’s Cut 14:50)
- Positron rifle shoots into low earth orbit, though power and accuracy reduced by range. (source) (Episode 22 Director’s Cut 15:30)
