Flint Lockwood

Flint Lockwood is the son of a Bait and Tackle shop owner on an island known as Swallow Falls. Well, not really known - it’s hidden under the A in Atlantic on the map, and has just a single town on it entirely dedicated to its sardine canning industry. He grew up with a passion for out-there science, pursuing crazier and crazier inventions despite the lack of support from his father and chastisement from his classmates. As an adult, he’s largely a public menace on the island due to his various failed inventions, however this all changes when he invents the “Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator” or FLDSMDFR for short, a device that miraculously converts pure water into food. When the device is ejected into the atmosphere, it begins to cause it to rain food - changing the entire dynamic of Swallow Falls, and testing if he can stay true to himself in the face of sudden fame and fortune. Flint is, well, surprisingly a guy with a lot of experience putting himself in danger. As a scientist he tries to solve problems in innovative and creative ways, for better or worse, and has an assortment of inventions on-hand at any given moment to help him against whatever he’s facing.
Physicals
- As a kid, he broke a screwdriver, scissors, and a cinder block over his feet. (source)
- Jams a pepper into the Mayor’s eye. (source)
- Throws an oversized shrimp and wraps a large spool of spaghetti around the FLDSMDFR, trapping it temporarily. (source)
- Takes out Chester in one karate chop. (source)
Speed/Agility
- Parkours around hazards produced by a spaghetti tornado. (source)
- He’s a casual beet-timer. (source)
- Dodges a tomato flying at him from the side. (source)
- Jumps out of the way of high-speed corn fired from the FLDSMDFR. (source)
Durability
- Survives being connected to a livewire attached to a power plant. (source)
- Is generally uninjured after the FLDSMDFR drags him across a city, plowing him through a fire hydrant. (source)
- Gets back up after falling for approximately 20 seconds and hitting a composite food flooring. (source)
- Survives getting hit by a massive explosion of food after falling for some time away from it. (source)
- Is fine after the Celebrationator explodes in his labcoat. (source)
Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator (FLDSMDFR)
- Performs real science to prep it, describing it as an invention that turns water into food but requires too much power, blacking out his house. (source)
- It takes a lot of joules to fully power. (source)
- When connected to the city’s power grid, it charges up, shoots up like a rocket, drags Flint across the city, and rockets into the atmosphere. (source)
- Turns water molecules into food by microwaving them. (source)
- Flint builds a communicator for it in approximately 3 hours, which can prompt the device to produce any desired food like eggs, bacon, pancakes, and orange juice. (source)
- Constant excessive requests overload the machine, causing it to produce larger food items out of control, as seen with a Spaghetti and Meatballs request. (source)
- Inside a massive meatball it formed around itself, it created a large apparatus for producing more food, also made of food. (source)
- Gains self-awareness, considering Flint a threat and trying to kill him with corn. (source)
- Despite being clogged by Flint’s spray-on shoes and exploding, it remains relatively intact, though severely damaged. (source)
Food Weather
- While in the atmosphere, it creates clouds that make it rain cheeseburgers. (source)
- Prompts the device to produce any desired food like eggs, bacon, pancakes, and orange juice. (source)
- Causes a wide variety of food to rain. (source)
- After overloading, it produces hazardous food weather, including a spaghetti tornado that rips into buildings and wreaks havoc. (source)
- Upon the Mayor’s order for a Vegas-style buffet, it goes completely off the rocker, producing a food storm capable of covering the entire northern hemisphere in 4 hours. (source)
- The super-storm produces food larger than entire buildings, falling with enough force to crush them. (source)
- Produces so much food it forms a massive conglomerate meatball around itself, drawing in clouds and ejecting a hurricane. (source)
- The food storm decimates various global landmarks. (source)
- Drastically changes the climate of Swallow Falls after crash-landing, making it a lush jungle. (source)
Sentient Food
- Mutated food becomes sentient, defending the FLDSMDFR; mutated pizza slices shoot through the air chasing Flint’s flying car. (source)
- Inside the giant meatball, there is a large group of man-eating chickens. (source)
- Causes it to rain oversized sentient gummy bears, strong enough to tear off metal sheets from Flint’s Flying Car. (source)
- Gummy bears can move/attack headless, rebuild with parts from others, and one is strong enough to grapple with Steve. (source)
- After crash-landing, produces many more sentient foods in six months, creating an entire ecosystem. (source)
- A living hamburger spider can sense individuals through cheese webbing vibrations. (source)
- A hamburger spider is fine after a car drops on it, tossing the car off. (source)
- Fires sticky cheese from its mouth to trap prey; bites Brent hard enough to eject him from his chicken costume at high-speeds. (source)
- Grapples Chester with projectile cheese, then eats him, presumably killing him. (source)
- A Tacodile Supreme is a large taco-headed monster. (source)
- A Tacodile Supreme tosses an armored scientist over the tree line after grabbing him with its mouth. (source)
- A Tacodile Supreme breaks out of ice after one of its arms is frozen. (source)
Spray-On Shoes
- Invented as a kid, made of a polymer adhesive that seamlessly wraps around feet when sprayed. (source)
- Cannot be removed and are durable enough for various household items and a cinderblock to break over them. (source)
- Remain undamaged as Flint digs them into the ground while the FLDSMDFR flies him across the city. (source)
- The adhesive is strong enough to block the FLDSMDFR while it produced a world-spanning food hurricane, causing it to self-destruct. (source)
Flying Car
- His first attempt at a flying car failed spectacularly. (source)
- His second design includes wings; he performs welding, forging, and uses a hologram to visualize its parts. (source)
- It can fly with enough speed to reach the cloudline in a short amount of time. (source)
- Takes hits from flying pizza slices on its main body after they cleave through the rear-view mirror. (source)
Monkey Thought Translator
- Translates monkey thoughts, though monkeys don’t have much on their mind. (source)
- Works on humans, translating vague fishing metaphors into literal speech. (source)
Ratbirds
- Genetically combines rats and birds as a failed science experiment. (source)
- Spread uncontrollably over the island and are strong enough to snatch children off the ground. (source)
- Saves Flint from falling after dropping from the FLDSMDFR. (source)
Handheld/Wearable Equipment (Other Inventions)
- Makes a ‘hair un-balder’ that causes hair to instantly and uncontrollably grow over his father’s head. (source)
- Makes a rudimentary grappling hook out of shrimp and spaghetti. (source)
- Makes a fan that flash-freezes anything in front of it. (source)
- Creates a device that force-feeds someone whatever food is on the plate. (source)
- Possesses rocket boots. (source)
- The Celebrationator, a ‘party in a box’ that explodes into a party at the push of a button, nearly causes his dad a heart attack. (source)
- The Celebrationator goes off in his labcoat, sending holiday-themed objects and a cupid into the air. (source)
- Uses the Celebrationator to defeat Chester by painting him to distinguish him from his holograms. (source)
- Made and constantly wears wedgie-proof underpants stretchy enough to be used as bungee cords. (source)
- Makes a wearable tracking device for the FLDSMDFR that emits a laser bending around obstacles to hit it. (source)
Structures and Vehicles (Other Inventions)
- Makes a ‘remote control T.V.’ that can walk upright and burst through a door. (source)
- Despite a cardboard lab, made a working underground elevator from a port-a-potty. (source)
- Built a truck with an attached catapult to launch excess food from his FLDSMDFR into the distance. (source)
- Used the catapult truck to gather and press jello into an entire jello-building mold he made. (source)
- Over time, built up so much food that the town required a dam to prevent overflowing. (source)
- Makes a system of two portals to deliver groceries. (source)
- Attempts to teleport to Swallow Falls, but the portal system only works on non-living things. (source)
- The portal system can transport living food creatures. (source)
- Constructs an invisible coffee table. (source)
- Makes something that makes it look like he can turn off the sun with a lightswitch. (source)
- Makes a bouncy jello tube, a device that shrinks his dad, a wiring system that lights up bulbs in his dad’s ears, and a device that shaves his dad bald. (source)
- With help from food animals, constructs a fishing-pole-esque catapult that launches him across the entire island. (source)
