Ben 10

Ghostfreak

Ghostfreak

Ghostfreak is the Omnitrix’s DNA sample of an Ectonurite, a ghost-like alien with traditional ghost abilities but also living and possessing DNA. He was one of Ben’s original 10 aliens, though rarely used because the DNA sample was sentient and could escape the Omnitrix, giving Ben sparse control. He rejoined Ben’s playlist in Alien Force and saw regular appearances in Omniverse. Ben’s combat use of Ghostfreak differs significantly between the original series and Omniverse, and from Zs’Skayr’s combat style. In the Original Series, Ben mostly relied on physical attacks, phasing, and invisibility for ambushes due to a lack of experience. In Omniverse, Ben gained a better grasp of Ghostfreak’s abilities, freely using possession and incorporating elements of Zs’Skayr’s fighting style, such as sharpened claws and tentacles, though remaining less brutal. Zs’Skayr is Ghostfreak’s original consciousness, captured by the Omnitrix due to his species’ resilient nature. He plotted his escape from the device and later attempted to take over Ben’s body. Zs’Skayr is one of Ben’s most tenacious and powerful recurring villains, consistently finding ways to return. His fighting style is more brutal, often immediately attempting possession. He effectively uses all Ghostfreak’s powers even when possession is difficult and has significant physical strength, having traded blows with Frankenstrike and Vilgax.
