IG-11

IG-11

An IG series bounty hunter droid who operated in the galaxy far, far away several years after the death of Emperor Palpatine and the decline of the Empire. Originally introduced as a hired gun working for the Bounty Hunter’s Guild, he crossed paths with Mando while they were both hunting down the same bounty. When they discovered the bounty was actually an infant, IG-11 was unaffected and prepared to shoot it - but Mando blasted him before he could. Later on, the Ugnaught Kuiil recovered, rebuilt, and retrained him to be a nurse droid. Teaming up with Mando, an ex-Rebellion trooper named Cara Dune, and a guild leader named Greef Karga, IG-11 fought against the Imperial remnant trying to capture the baby and ended up sacrificing himself to save his friends.

Physicals

  • Twists a Stormtrooper’s arm around then flips him by it, then grabs another one by the helmet and smashes him into a speeder bike repeatedly. (source) (S1E8)
  • Body is built on an armored substrate that can withstand repeated assaults. (source)
  • Unaffected by a blaster shot to the shoulder. (source) (S1E1)
  • Takes another blaster shot to the shoulder. (source) (S1E1)
  • Takes several shots from a blaster turret, however they bring him to the ground. The blasts missed his central wiring harness and he seems in not bad condition afterwards. Said turret was able to slowly destroy a pillar and leave pretty sizeable holes in walls with its shots. (source) (S1E1)
  • Takes several blaster shots to the back that brings him to the ground but eventually gets back up and continues fighting. (source) (S1E8)
  • Walks through a river of lava long enough to reach the end of it and activate his self destruct. (source) (S1E8)

Weaponry/Skill

  • Initially armed with two blasters: an E-11 blaster rifle and a DLT-20A laser rifle. The E-11 has telescopic sights, adjustable stocks, and a high powered, red colored plasma blast. (source)
  • One shot from his DLT-20A sends Mando off his feet, but doesn’t seem to damage his armor. (source) (S1E1)
  • Both blasters take out Stormtroopers and mercenaries with one shot.
  • Beats a mercenary’s draw, shooting him in the chest before he can fire, and then quickly takes out more mercenaries with precise shots. (source) (S1E1)
  • Mows down more mercenaries with the Mandalorian, targeting and tracking many at once. (source) (S1E1)
  • Takes down tons of Stormtroopers with his blasters while riding a speeder bike. (source) (S1E8)

Droid Abilities

  • Can rotate various parts of his body, like parts of his head, his torso, and his legs. (source) (S1E1)
  • Spins his torso around to protect the Child when Stormtroopers begin to fire on them. (source) (S1E8)
  • Has a self-destruct feature that he can cancel easily. When used, it creates an explosion which takes out a large group of Stormtroopers. (source) (S1E1, S1E8)
  • Can run a diagnostics scan on himself to identify damage to his body. (source) (S1E1)
  • Has sensors that can indicate if lifeforms are present. (source) (S1E1)
  • Has a cutting laser in his hand that cuts through a metal grate, though it takes a pretty long time. (source) (S1E8)
  • Uses a bacta spray from his hand on Mando after he gets shot and caught in an explosion. It heals him over hours, called a bacta infusion when Mando recovers enough to walk. (source) (S1E8)
  • Can understand droid language, which is called binary or droidspeak. (source) (S1E8)
  • Can analyze people’s voices to discern their emotion. (source) (S1E8)

Miscellaneous

  • After being reprogrammed by Kuiil, could prepare meals. (source) (S1E7)
  • Can pilot a speeder bike and blasts some Stormtroopers with the gun on it. (source) (S1E8)
