Joseph Joestar

Joseph Joestar, also known as Jojo, is the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, continuing the fight against the Stone Mask’s creators, the ancient ‘Pillar Men,’ who are vastly superior to humans and vampires. Despite an outwardly overconfident demeanor, Joseph is cunning and intelligent, excelling in quick thinking and psychological warfare. He compensates for a lack of refined skill with natural talent for Ripple (Hamon), allowing him to defeat enemies greater than those his grandfather faced. Later in life, in the Stardust Crusaders arc, Joseph returns, now relying on his Stand, Hermit Purple, alongside his Hamon, to combat new threats.

Physicals - Strength

  • Survives being struck by an attack that tears apart a huge stone column ’like it was a rag’. (source)

  • Pulls his hand back right before it gets taken by Santana. (source)

  • Flicks his goggles and sends shards of glass flying with enough precision to kill flies. (source)
  • Balances on a tiny pole with two fingers. (source)
  • Stops himself from being crushed by using a hammer to swing out of the way of incoming horses. (source)

Hamon - Pre-Training

  • Fires a bottle cap with enough force to snap a man’s finger before he can pull the trigger of his gun. (source)
  • Knocks out a man by sending Hamon into his brain. (source)
  • Sends Hamon through a gun and into Straizo. (source)
  • Infuses a shot glass with Hamon and reflects Straizo’s Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. (source)

Trickery

  • Figures out that a man wears brass knuckles and where he had misplaced them, based on several observations. (source)
  • Figures out that Straizo is a vampire based on his breath not fogging up in the cold, and then blasts him with a hidden gun. (source)
  • Uses a mirror to trick Straizo into thinking he had killed Joseph. (source)
  • Attaches a grenade to Straizo, which, when swatted away, pulls the pins of several more hidden grenades. (source)
  • Infuses a cactus with Hamon to take out an opponent he can’t tag. (source)
  • Pretends to be unconscious so Santana will attempt to absorb him, then uses Hamon to break him apart. (source)
  • Uses the reflection of sunlight in the water behind him to destroy Straizo before he can reach safety. (source)
  • Hides a pigeon in a woman’s mouth that jumps out when Caesar attempts to kiss her. (source)
  • Swings his clackers in a way that they get stuck behind his back and are not visible from the front to enact a sneak attack. (source)
  • Joseph’s missed clacker from the first throw allows his second miss to rebound and strike Wham in the head. (source)
  • Pretends to run away to lure Wham away from Caesar and Speedwagon. (source)
  • Ties a string to the hand of a corpse and uses it to cut ACDC’s arm off. (source)
  • Uses his mask to block ACDC’s attack. (source)
  • Ties his string trap in a way that after being cut, it still formed a single string that destroys ACDC’s body. (source)
  • Takes the Aja Stone by pretending to kick at Kars, but actually kicking snow to blind Kars and slow himself down. (source)

  • Survived Wham’s Divine Sandstorm by using his foot to conduct Hamon through the reins of his horse into Wham’s arms without anyone noticing. (source)

  • Throws a makeshift incendiary bomb, with the true purpose of getting the oil inside of Wham’s body, then throws a burning headband and predicts that Wham will cut it apart, allowing the scraps to enter his body and explode. (source)
  • Creates a knot on the ground by moving around that saves both him and Lisa Lisa when Kars attempts to cut the rope holding them. (source)
  • Fakes jumping from a plane using a dummy and a parachute, then crashes the plane into Kars and into a volcano. (source)
  • Unconsciously moves his hand to block Kars’ Hamon attack and cause an eruption which ultimately sends Kars into space. (source)

Hermit Purple - Divination

  • Smashes a camera and produces a photo of DIO. (source)
  • Takes control of a television set and causes the channels to change rapidly and produce a message from the voices heard. (source) (While the message states that Kakyoin is a traitor, this is not quite the case; instead, the truth was there was an enemy posing as Kakyoin.)
  • States that he would be able to locate a hidden Stand User with a camera. (source)
  • Using his ability on a pile of dust creates a map of the city which points him to his destination. (source)
  • Creates a map in sand with a marker that shows the location of his enemy. (source)
