Scott Lang - Ant-Man

Scott Lang - Ant-Man

After being fired from his job for being a whistleblower and letting HR know how Vistacorp was overcharging customers, Scott was arrested for hacking the money back to the customers (as well as breaking into his boss’ mansion and crashing his car into his pool). On release, Scott was unable to find and keep any source of employment, ultimately driving him back to a cat-burglary job given to him by a friend he made in prison. Unknowingly, this was a test given to him by Hank Pym, gauging his capability before recruiting him for a heist to stop the production of the Yellowjacket suit. Becoming the new Ant-Man, Scott succeeded, making a good enough impression on Falcon following a raid on what turned out to be the Avengers compound to be recruited for Captain America’s side in Civil War. While arrested, Scott returned home under a plea deal, remaining there until being once again recruited by Hank to save his wife from the Quantum Zone. On a research mission after saving her, Scott was trapped in the Quantum Zone after the Snap killed Hope, Hank, and Janet. He was only freed by accident five years later, but was able to use his newfound knowledge to conceptualize a time heist, setting them on a path that would reverse the Mad Titan’s destruction. As a notable amount of gear is shared between Scott, Hope van Dyne, and Hank Pym (or, in the case of Hope’s suit, works on the same principles), some feats will feature them instead. These feats will name who performs the feat, but they all should be achievable by Scott. Please be aware that Scott’s giant size varies between movies, and even between different points of Ant-Man and the Wasp, and as such the feats may not necessarily be universal to any time he grows giant.

Ant-Man Suit

  • Shrinks Scott fast enough for him to jump through a keyhole and grow before landing on the other side. (source) (AM)
  • Shrinks out of a pair of handcuffs. (source) (AM)

([source](https://web.archive.org/web/20230901000000*/https://redd.it/gpwrxa, https://gfycat.com/negligiblefreekudu)) (AM)
  • While Pym hypothesizes that the mind was not meant to understand the realm, Janet showed no memory loss coming out from decades in the quantum realm. (source) (AW)
  • Scott later held memory of returning to the quantum realm after using a specialized device to enter it in the Ant-Man suit. (source) (End)
  • While shrunken, rides on one of Hawkeye’s arrows. (source) (CW)
  • Switches between shrinking and growing through a screen on the arm. (source) (CW)
  • Before Ant-Man and the Wasp, his greatest height was 65 feet tall. While he would later greatly surpass this due to a faulty regulator, being this large caused him to fall unconscious soon after, needing Hope to save him by fixing his regulator and shrinking him. ([source](https://web.archive.org/web/20230901000000*/https://gfycat.com/secondarytediousbird, https://gfycat.com/smallminiaturebumblebee, https://redd.it/iznw2m)) (AW)

  • When first using an experimental upgrade to his original suit, there was an issue with the size regulator, causing him to uncontrollably grow or shrink to varying sizes. (source) (AW)
  • Disks that, upon colliding with an object, get them to either grow or shrink considerably. Organic objects turn into a small glob on being shrunk without protection, and Scott has never shown to be willing to do this. • Shrank a spaceship to fit in a palm. (source) (End)
  • Hank had an entire building that shrank to be transported around on wheels. (source) (AW)
  • Hank’s home also shrinks and can be easily transported. (source) (AW)

Ants

  • Through electromagnetic waves transmitted either through an earpiece or the Ant-Man suit’s helmet, Scott is capable of ‘speaking’ to and controlling ants. (source)
  • The range appears to be considerable, with Hank Pym getting ants to obey his commands while Scott was in a jail cell, though this could be with technology not available in the suit. (source) (AM)
  • Carpenter Ants are winged ants mostly used to fly Ant-Man around. (source) (AM)
  • Carpenter Ants create a raft for Scott to travel through a water main on before moving to raise Scott up, allowing him to grab onto a rope made of other carpenter ants. ([source](https://web.archive.org/web/20230901000000*/https://gfycat.com/cleverhideousbarasinga, https://gfycat.com/diligentexcitablegardensnake)) (AM)

  • Crazy Ants are given a small jacket of sorts which creates an electrical charge that, with a group of crazy ants, fries computer servers. (source) (AM)
  • Fire Ants, while known for their bite, are mostly used in large groups to create bridges and other such platforms. (source) (AM)

  • Hope uses ants to block the hammer of a pistol, stopping it from firing. (source) (AM)
  • Pym had ants act as a GPS after planting a tracker in his stolen laboratory. (source) (AW)
  • Carry tiny cameras on their back for Pym to view through from a great distance away. (source) (AM)
  • Small devices which launch bundles of C4 which shortly after grow back to regular size and has a timer start. (source) (AM)
  • A small jacket of sorts which creates an electrical charge that bounces between crazy ants and a computer server they’re in, frying it. (source) (AM)
