S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarriers

S.H.I.E.L.D. developed helicarriers as mobile aerial bases to address global and interstellar threats. Capable of functioning as ocean-faring aircraft carriers, they utilize four massive propellers for flight. Helicarrier No. 64 was the original, with three additional ones constructed under Project Insight to preemptively eliminate threats. The Project Insight helicarriers were destroyed during HYDRA’s uprising, while No. 64 was preserved and later deployed to evacuate civilians during the events of Age of Ultron.

General

  • Capable of floating on the ocean like conventional aircraft carriers and becoming airborne via four massive propellers, serving as a versatile mission hub worldwide. (source) (Av)

Helicarrier No. 64

  • Can access every wirelessly connected camera on the planet, including those on phones and laptops. (source) (Av)
  • Underside features reflection panels that mimic the sky, rendering the helicarrier nearly invisible. (source) (Av)
  • Equipped with a reinforced container designed to trap and drop the Hulk from high altitude. (source) (Av)
  • The Hulk containment container is cracked but remains structurally intact after a direct impact from Mjolnir. (source) (Av)
  • Houses multiple smaller flying vessels for transporting groups of people. (source) (AoU)
  • Can maintain flight with only three of its engines operational. (source) (Av)

Project Insight

  • Can eliminate up to a thousand hostiles per minute using long-range precision guns. (source) (WS)
  • Armed with weapons capable of destroying other helicarriers. (source) (WS)
  • Utilizes satellites to scan and identify individuals’ DNA without requiring them to be outdoors. (source) (WS)
  • Elevated and sustained indefinitely by giant repulsor engines, designed to never descend once airborne. (source) (WS)
  • Algorithm enables detection and targeting of over 700,000 individuals within a large area in a short time, including those indoors. (source) (WS)
