Steel Spider

Oliver ‘Ollie’ Osnick was an overweight, spoiled, rich high school student who idolized Dr. Octopus. Using his parent’s money, he built artificial arms in the same style as his idol, going on a robbery spree. He was stopped by Spider-Man, realizing the error of his ways. With a newfound admiration for Spider-Man, he refashioned his tentacles into spider legs and took to the streets as Spider-Kid. Finding his feelings for his classmate reciprocated, Ollie hung up his costume, though he never stopped tinkering with his legs, constantly adding to and upgrading his gear. Devoting himself entirely to his girlfriend and to exercise, Ollie donned a new costume as Steel Spider when his girlfriend was caught by a stray bullet in a gang fight. Ollie continued to operate as Steel Spider until Norman Osborne’s Thunderbolts arrested him for violating the Superhuman Registration Act.
