The Beheaded

The Beheaded is the main protagonist of the game Dead Cells. He has a variety of weapons and skills at his disposal as he progresses through the island. But he still dies a lot.
General
- Can use a health potion (1 charge by default, upgraded to have 4) to heal a percentage of damage (capped at 75%). He can refill these charges at a health station, or by buying flasks from the chef. (source)
- Can roll through enemy attacks (source)
- His head can light things on fire (source)
- This does not mean he is immune to fire damage (source)
- Explodes a giant enemy with a frying pan (source)
- Can detach his head at will; the detached head can perform any non-combat action that The Beheaded could normally do (source)
Durability
- Impaled on a rock, dies (source)
- Survives being crushed in a giant skeleton’s hand (source)
- Can mitigate fall stun by performing a ground slam (source)
- Ground slam can damage enemies (source)
- Gets stunned when falling from a high height, but takes no damage (source)
Skill
- Can parry arrows with a shield; reflected arrows home in on enemies’ last position (source)
- Cuts through a ton of enemies (source)
Agility
- Blurred as he dodges a claw (source)
- Can double jump (source)
- Blurred as he dodges an axe (source)
- Dodges some bolts of energy (source)
- Can hang onto and climb walls (source)
Strength
- Causes an explosion by hitting the ground (source)
- Kicks a monster into a stone wall, leaving a sizable dent (source)
- Can roll through a door effortlessly (source)
Mutations
- Adrenalin: dodging an attack gives back a bit of health (source)
- Alienation: Reducing curse gives back a bit of health, but increases curse duration (source)
- Ammo: doubles the ammo of all ranged weapons (source)
- Blind faith: reduces skill cooldowns on shield parries (source)
- Combo: increases damage based on recently killed enemies (source)
- Counterattack: attacking after a parry deals additional damage (source)
- Dead inside: gain a permanent HP increase, food no longer heals (source)
- Emergency triage: health flask restores less but is faster to use, and gives a temporary shield (source)
- Extended healing: health flask heals more, but its effect is spread over 15 seconds, and increases damage for those 15 seconds (source)
- Frostbite: enemies take damage over time when slowed (source)
- Gastronomy: food health restoration is doubled, deal additional damage for a while after food is eaten (source)
- Hunter’s instinct: decreases skill cooldowns when enemies are killed without melee attacks (source)
- Instinct of the master of arms: decrease skill cooldowns when hitting critical hits (source)
- Killer instinct: reduces skill cooldowns for each enemy killed in melee combat (source)
- Masochist: take less damage from traps, movement speed increased after hitting a trap (source)
- Melee: melee attacks slow enemies (source)
- Necromancy: restores a small amount of health when killing an enemy, up to 50% HP (source)
- Parting gift: drops a bomb when killing an enemy with a non-melee attack (source)
- Recovery: time available to recover health after taking a hit multiplied by two (source)
- Ripper: melee attacks dislodge arrows and deal damage based on the amount of arrows dislodged (source)
- Support: deal additional damage when near a deployed skill (source)
- Tainted flask: use a health flask adds additional damage (source)
- Tranquility: deal additional damage when not near enemies (source)
- Velocity: speed bonus after killing enemies multiplied by 3 (source)

Shields
- All shields can be held up to block attacks or parry upcoming enemy attacks
- Assault Shield: dashes forward when used (source)
- Bloodthirst Shield: bleeds enemies when blocking, parries bleed all nearby enemies (source)
- Cudgel: stuns enemies when blocking or parrying (source)
- Force Shield: holding up the shield generates a continuous shield. Parrying restores charges for said shield (source)
- Frontline Shield: melee weapons deal additional damage after blocking an attack (source)
- Greed Shield: turns reflected projectiles into valuables, and forces valuables from enemies that attack (source)
- Knockback Shield: knocks back enemies when blocking/parrying (source)
- Parry Shield: parrying projectiles deals additional damage (source)
- Punishment: damages nearby enemies when parrying attacks (source)
- Rampart: generates a temporary shield when blocking an attack (source)
- Spiked Shield: deals large damage when blocking enemies (source)
- Thunder Shield: fires lightning in front of the shield; after parrying an attack, can expel a powerful AOE lightning burst (source)
Ranged Weapons
- Ranged weapons sometimes have ammo that gets lodged in enemies, but usually automatically target enemies in range and can be used from a distance
- Alchemic Carbine: launches a projectile which explodes into poisonous gas (source)
- Bow and Endless Quiver: an average bow with infinite arrows (source)
- Boomerang: flies past enemies and comes back, hitting enemies on the way (source)
- Barrel Launcher: launches an explosive barrel. Can destroy certain walls (source)
- Explosive Crossbow: shoots a bolt that explodes on contact with anything, or smashes it on the ground to deal AOE damage (source)
- Firebrands: brands of fire that light enemies and the ground ablaze (source)
- Fire Blast: breathes fire which does continuous damage (source)
- Frost Blast: freezes enemies in front of The Beheaded (source)
- Heavy Crossbow: launches a close range shotgun-blast of bolts, can reload before firing to deal crits (source)
- Hemorrhage: a large throwable axe which causes bleed damage. Crits targets already bleeding (source)
- Ice Bow: freezes enemies hit (source)
- Hokuto’s bow: puts a mark on hit enemies, which causes them to take additional damage. Mark spreads to nearby enemies when that enemy dies (source)
- Ice Crossbow: launches a bolt that freezes enemies. Can also launch a faster bolt that crits frozen enemies (source)
- Ice Shards: throws shards of ice which slow enemies (source)
- Infantry Bow: crits nearby enemies (source)
- Javelin: throws a javelin that pierces all enemies, crits pierced enemies past the first. Can teleport to it after throwing (source)
- Lightning Bolt: a continuous bolt of lightning that deals crits when striking enemies for an extended period (source)
- Magic Missiles: launches many magic missiles (source)
- Marksman’s bow: crits enemies far enough away from The Beheaded (source)
- Nerves of Steel: crits when firing the bow at a specific time after drawing it (source)
- Multiple-Nocks Bow: launches many arrows at once (source)
- Pyrotechnics: launches a ball of fire (source)
- Quick Bow: a bow that fires bolts quickly and fully-automatically. Crits enemies with a sufficient amount of bolts lodged in them (source)
- Repeater Crossbow: rapidly fires bolts. Crits enemies rooted by the alt. attack (source)
- The Boy’s Axe: throws an axe which is lodged in the enemy. Can activate again to pull out the axe from any range, dealing additional damage (source)
- Sonic carbine: rapidly fires bolts (source)
- Throwing knife: throws a bleeding knife (source)
Melee Weapons
- Assassin’s Dagger: crits enemies when hitting from behind (source)
- Blood Sword: every attack puts a stack of bleed onto the enemy (source)
- Broadsword: a large sweeping blade that gets more powerful with subsequent attacks in patterns of 3 (source)
- Cursed Sword: deals huge amounts of damage, but causes The Beheaded to die in one hit to anything (source)
- Electric Whip: automatically targets nearby enemies, a small whip that deals small damage (source)
- Frantic Sword: a sword that crits after being hit by an attack (source)
- Flawless: a spear that crits after not being attacked for a while (source)
- Giantkiller: a sword that crits bosses exclusively, and always (source)
- Hayabusa Gauntlets: crits after attacking an enemy 3 times (source)
- Hayabusa boots: on the third attack, deals an AOE burst of damage (source)
- Impaler: a spear that crits enemies that are against a wall (source)
- Meat Skewer: the third attack dashes through enemies, subsequent attacks crit (source)
- Nutcracker: deals additional damage to stunned enemies (source)
- Oiled Sword: attacks cover enemies in oil (source)
- Rapier: crits after coming out of a roll (source)
- Seismic Strike: strikes shake the ground in front of The Beheaded, stunning enemies (source)
- Sadists Stiletto: crits enemies that are bleeding or poisoned (source)
- Shovel: reflects projectiles (source)
- Shrapnel Axes: strikes launch shrapnel in front of The Beheaded (source)
- Spartan Sandals: pushes back enemies, deals damage to enemies pushed against a wall (source)
- Spiked Boots: reflects projectiles (source)
- Swift Sword: crits enemies when under a speed bonus (source)
- Symmetrical Lance: crits after killing two enemies in quick succession (source)
- Twin Daggers: deals a powerful crit on the third attack (source)
- Valmont’s Whip: crits any enemies at a specific distance away (source)
- War Spear: crits enemies when striking them together (source)
- Torch: lights enemies and the ground on fire (source)
- Wrenching Whip: pulls enemies towards The Beheaded (source)
Deployables
- All deployables stay on the ground until destroyed/interacted with by enemies, and are only powered when nearby
- Leaves saw blades on the ground that continuously bleed enemies who step on it (source)
- Crusher: slows down enemies, and then crushes them for big damage (source)
- Double Crossb-O-Matic: a deployable turret that rapidly fires arrows (source)
- Explosive decoy: a decoy which attracts enemies, then explodes (source)
- Flamethrower Turret: a turret which launches a continuous stream of flames to both sides (source)
- Heavy Turret: a turret which occasionally launches high damage bolts (source)
- Sinew Slicer: a turret that rapidly fires bleeding saw blades (source)
- Barnacle: a turret that attaches itself to the ceiling (source)
Grenades
- Cluster Grenade: throws a grenade which explodes into more grenades, which all explode individually (source)
- Fire Grenade: throws a grenade that lights the area and enemies on fire (source)
- Ice Grenade: throws a grenade that freezes all enemies in the area (source)
- Infantry Grenade: throws a low damage grenade that recharges quickly (source)
- Magnetic Grenade: leaves an attracting trap on the ground that continuously damages enemies (source)
- Oil Grenade: covers the ground and all nearby enemies with oil (source)
- Powerful Grenade: a powerful grenade that takes a while to recharge (source)
- Swarm: a grenade that creates biters that automatically attack enemies (source)
- Stun Grenade: stuns enemies (source)
Misc skills
- Corrosive Cloud: deploys a cloud of corrosive gas (source)
- Corrupted power: increases damage for a bit, but also increases damage taken (source)
- Death Orb: shoots an orb which slowly travels in a straight line, causing continuous damage in its radius (source)
- Grappling Hook: throws a hook that pulls the hit enemy (source)
- Great Owl of War: automatically shoots arrows at nearby enemies, activate again to increase damage temporarily (source)
- Knife Dance: an AOE attack that launches bleeding knives in every direction (source)
- Phaser: dashes behind a nearby enemy (source)
- Lacerating Aura: generates blades that damage nearby enemies (source)
- Tornado: fires a tornado that moves across in a line, reflecting off of walls and dealing continuous damage to enemies caught in it (source)
- Wolf Trap: drops a trap on the ground that roots enemies, causes them to take additional damage (source)
- Wings of the Crow: flies in the air, dealing continuous damage to those below The Beheaded (source)
- Wave of Denial: pushes all nearby enemies back, deals large damage when pushing enemies into a wall (source)
