the Joker

the Joker

The Joker is the insane arch-nemesis of Batman, who he became obsessed with after they met at Blackgate Penitentiary. Their rivalry culminated in the Joker leading a mass take-over of Arkham Asylum with the help of a formula called TITAN, which allowed the Joker to turn men into nine-foot tall monsters. Batman defeated all of the Joker’s minions and allies, leaving the clown with no choice but to take the serum and fight Batman himself. While it briefly enhanced his strength, the formula caused a severe withdrawal that put Joker on death’s door almost as soon he was moved to the asylum’s replacement, Arkham City. While his gang quickly took over a third of Arkham City’s territory, the Joker’s TITAN withdrawal made him so desperate that he risked a scheme that would end his rivalry with Batman forever.
