the Lich

The Lich is the main antagonist of Adventure Time. He is a primordial creature from before the universe whose essence was deposited on Earth millions of years before the start of the show via a catalyst comet, but came into physical being near the end of the Mushroom War from a “mutagenic bomb” after he possessed a person who had been submerged in mutagenic waste. At some point, he attempted to destroy all life but was defeated and imprisoned within amber in the Candy Kingdom’s tree by the hero Billy many years ago. The Lich had many battles throughout the years with Finn and Jake, coming back in multiple forms, never truly being gone for good. It’s only a matter of time before The Lich eventually wins and all life is gone, leading to the destruction of all that is.
