William Burnside - Captain America of the 1950s

William Burnside, a super-fan of Captain America, rediscovered the super-soldier serum during the 1950s, underwent surgery to assume Steve Rogers’ identity, and adventured with a student nicknamed Bucky. Without stabilizing vita rays, the serum induced paranoid delusions, leading them to believe they were the originals. Placed in stasis by the government, Burnside was later revived and manipulated by Doctor Faustus and fascist groups to oppose the original Captain America’s ideals.
